Marginalia in oil

My original paintings are created using professional oils, acrylics,  and mixed media techniques. Many of my acrylics are layered and  varnished to achieve the richness of oils.

My art captures the transformative power of color, texture, and emotion—turning fleeting moments into timeless expressions that inspire, uplift, and connect.

Every piece is truly one-of-a-kind, hand-painted, and created with care—no prints or shortcuts.

Every piece is truly  one-of-a-kind, hand-painted, and created with care—I paint predominantly on fine artist canvas board, standard sizes. All works are varnished.

Filling up my gallery display

Blank canvases and empty displays motivate me to create!  I know, it's crazy, but it's how I operate.  Enjoy!

All original paintings

Thank all of you who came to visit at  Nampa Festival of the Arts, who appreciate my work, and were kind to choose a painting(s) to carry home.  By sharing my creations with you I feel I have attained my long -life's journey to enrich your lives with peace and joy!

7 day frenzy

I explain in the blog '90 ta' nuttin' about this week' painting frenzy.  Enjoy!

All original paintings

My recent booth 3 hours from home in 100 degree weather!  Because I am prolific due to dyslexic and autistic complications, I paint fast and a LOT!  I painted 6 live during this 2 day art in the park in Shoshone, Idaho.

Granny artist's displays

From first display art setup end of college in 1967, through many years travel  from 1976, over 14 states, setting up 40 shows a year, this video shows my most recent engineered art booths.

Each venue demands creative and versatile setups, unique to that event and encountered conditions. Art for me, emerges from overcoming  dual neurodivergent traits:  my brain processes information in a way that is not typical of most individuals.  So I sacrifice some normal abilities for what has become an insane ability and passion to paint fast and a lot!

It's my story, and I'm stickin' to it!

My Pricing Method

The original works of art showcased on my website may seem to have “no rhyme or reason” when it comes to pricing! But let me explain—there is a method to my madness.

I have always been prolific in my creativity. It’s not just what I do—it’s who I am. Painting is my life, and at this stage of my career, I paint every day. Not just one piece, but often several. My mind overflows with ideas and visions eager to be set free on canvas.

When I paint, I begin with a clear vision in my mind and a plan for how I intend to create it. Painting is more than creativity—it’s a discipline that trains my brain to interpret, beautifully and magically, the visions I hold within. It pushes me to overcome the challenges my mind faces while honing my artistic skills with every brushstroke. Every painting is a challenge—an exercise in disciplining my brain to accomplish what I set out to do. I push myself to try new techniques, master difficult concepts, and bring my imagination to life. The joy is in the process, and the reward is in the outcome.

My artistic journey doesn’t end at the easel. Sharing my work is part of the challenge—from writing, posting, and listing to the physical effort of transporting and setting up for shows. It's all part of my mission to "keep on going" and continue creating.

Now, about my pricing…

If a painting doesn’t achieve the vision I had for it—if it falls short of my artistic goal—I price it “cheap,” sometimes as low as $20. It may sound silly, but it’s my way of holding myself accountable—a kind of ‘sacrifice’ or ‘penalty’ for not achieving what I set out to do. The piece may still be quite beautiful, but if it didn’t meet my intended outcome, I mark it as such and move on. I rarely rework a painting; I simply call it “done” and start fresh on the next canvas.

My pricing, therefore, reflects my process and progress. With every piece, I learn something new—techniques, color palettes, or textures. And when I channel all those lessons into a painting that does meet my vision—the result is a piece that carries the value of my growth and determination.

Art, like music or fashion, is deeply personal. Everyone has their own taste. What feels extraordinary to you may seem modestly priced, while another piece might feel “too dear” for your liking. That’s the beauty of art—it connects with us all differently.

Now you have a glimpse into my artistic mind—and why my pricing is as unique as the art itself.
